iphone unlock instruction from att and apple with a twist.?

i received an unlock instruction from at&t and apple for my iphone 4s, it instructs me to back up and restore my phone thru itunes for the unlock to take effect, my iphone is jailbroken and can be used with the r-sim i have now for other networks but it takes a few tries to get it working, so im considering factory unlocking my phone, now the main question is, will i lose my jailbreak, and cydia if i proceed with the instruction i was given or will i still have cydia and the jailbreak after everything was said and done? thanks for the input…

Hi, so I live in Canada. I can buy an iphone in an apple store unlocked. But If i were to buy it from someone else with it locked to Bell or Rogers (phone comanies) then I can save on tax (which is VERY EXPENSIVE cus i live in canada…). But if its locked to another company I can get it unlocked somewere else. So …. Is there a difference getting it unlocked from Apple or somewhere else?

URGENT iphone unlockING HELP!?

I need a lot of help.I just bought a second hand Iphone 3g for my mom for christmas. It is locked to fido, she is on telus. It is running firmware 4.2.1Since it doesn’t have a valid sim card in it, it won’t let me use it. The only function is emergency call.Here is what I would like to do to it:Jailbreak it, unlock it, then reset it so it’s unlocked without any jailbreak. Once that’s done I want to downgrade the firmware to a lower version (optional but would be appreciated) because 4.2.1 is very slow on the iphone. HOW CAN I DO THIS? Can you jailbreak unlock then reset it and still keep it unlocked??!??! help!

Simply put, is there a way of JAILBREAKING IT, UNLOCKING IT, THEN EITHER RESETTING IT BACK TO NORMAL OR REMOVING CYDIA WHILE RETAINING IT’S UNLOCKED STATUS?

okay so if I hide cydia will the phone still be able to use the app store? If I plug it into itunes will it screw up or detect that it’s jailbroken? Will the phone run smoothly??? Anything I need to be cautious of?

iphone unlock gone wrong. Please help!?

I have an iPhone 4 that was unlocked with a gevey chip to work with tmoblie. It worked for a few hours then stopped once I reset my springboard after downloading a ringtone from Cydia. After attempting to fix it, my phone is now stuck with with iTunes logo and plug. I can’t get out of this screen at all. I connected it to iTunes and it asked me restore the iPhone, but I don’t know if that’ll get rid of my jailbreak. What can I do to fix this?

It’s firmware is 4.3.3

Anything would help me at this point!
the jailbreak was done through cydia and the gevey chip required me to add furiousmod as a source to cydia and then i restarted my phone like the instructions said, and once i put the chip in and stuff, it just didn’t work.
the unlock was done using the gevey chip ultra.

iphone unlocked/sim free? How do you put a sim in?

I want to buy an iPhone 3gs, I want it on pay as you go on almost any network. Im searching on the internet and keep seeing “UNLOCKED/SIM FREE” How am i supposed to get it locked to a sim? Please could someone explain please.

Ok but I’ve seen a “pay as you go” iphone on ebay which is “unlocked”, If I bought this, ow am i meant to get minutes/text/data for example?
