Is this a motherboard problem?

Good afternoon, guys i need your recommendations, please advice me on what im going to do, the pc freezes right after it loaded the desktop icons, i dont know the problem, i freshly re-install the windows, even in safe mode the same thing happen. I dont know the mobo model but all i know that it was a compaq set pc together with monitor, i already tried the hdd, power source onto other pc but it still works, for the ram, i couldnt because it does not fit, instead, when compaq logo screen appears, the ram memory scans in the upper left and it gives exact memory base on my memory stick. Does this mean that i’d have to change my mobo? If i buy a new mobo (other brand) does it will not quarrel with compaq parts? Please help me, thank you so much..
