psp pandora\’s battery dead?

so i bought a tool pandora’s battery about a year ago off of dealextreme.com. i used it to successfully unbrick my fat psp. a couple days ago a friend asked me to install cfw on their fat psp so i made a magic memory stick and put it into their psp and put the pandora’s battery in and nothing happened. so i figured it was dead. i got my psp and took out the original battery and connected it to the charger and turned it on and put in my pandora’s battery. the orange light that indicates the battery is charging flashed on for a fraction of a second and flashed off for about a second. it flashed on for another fraction of a second and then flashed off for a second. it just kept doing that and in the battery information icon on the psp it didn’t show the battery percentage it just said external for the power source. is the pandora’s battery dead? is it charging when the orange light is flashing on and off? do i need a new pandora’s battery? does it just need to be charged? any help would be greatly appreciated
