The Videos on my PSP slim will not play and it is new. WHY?

I just bought a psp 2001 upgraded to firmware ver. 5.02. I have tried to save the videos (in mp4 format) to the following 3 directories with no luck. F:/ is my PSP.
F:/PSP/VIDEO F:/MP_ROOT/100mnv01.. I have tried to reformat the card and start from scratch and still no luck. I have heard that I may need to rollback the firmware to like 3.71 but in order to do this I have to create a pandora psp…I have ordered the Pandora battery should be here tomorrow I am looking to change the firmware anyways for a couple of other proggys I have.. But thus far I have had no luck in rolling back I called Sony and they told me that once 5.02 is installed you can’t change back other forums say that it is possible but all my attempts have failed. hmmmmmm..
