Why are people with dreadlocks(like moi) always compared to Lil Wayne?

People see dreads and automatically think, Weezy or T-Pain. Me and my dad are always being compared to Lil Wayne, saying we look like him just because we got the same hairstyle?

It’s just because he is famous.

Well obviously. Lil Wayne is everywhere. Dreadlocks are something you notice right off the bat when you look at Weezy or T-pain. Then they see a regular everyday person with dreadlocks, it just automatically clicks.

Because every one knows who lil’ wayne is and it’s the first thing they will think of. I guess it’s not really a bad thing, but if it annoys you just walk away and leave it.

Because, Lil wayne is known by a majority of the young teen/ young adult community
and the kids i know either love him and say he’s one of their favorite rappers
Or say they absolutely hate him–not just because of his rapping but his attitude and the way he has beef with other rappers like Fiddy
he’s known for his music. An idol to some but to the rest of the young kids who listen to rap music, the worst rapper ever.
Bottom line, people can always use him as an example because he is someone everyone knows
